Founder Daisaku Ikeda presents messages addressing Soka University of America (SUA) on notable occasions such as commencement ceremonies, entrance ceremonies, building dedications, and student festivals. Prior to the opening of Soka University of America as a four-year liberal arts college in 2001, SUA was an independent not-for-profit organization incorporated in the state of California that provided graduate school and English learning programs on the Calabasas campus, where he delivered his message on the opening of Soka University, Los Angeles in person on February 3, 1987. Subsequent messages were written by Founder Ikeda and delivered to Soka University of America in advance.

This record group includes messages in print and electronic format by Founder Daisaku Ikeda. Items were selected based on their subject content: SUA History, Soka education, and the history of the development of the Soka school system. This record group expects additions.

Graduate school remained at Calabasas campus until 2007 and moved to Aliso Viejo campus in 2007.
